So I noticed someone on a forum asked “how many people feel like killing themselves right now”?
I had to jump on that, of course..I’m really against such things, unless it looks like the person wants to reduce the world’s surplus population of idiots, then I’m all for it. (I’m allowed to contradict myself)
I honestly have zero sympathy for anyone who commits suicide. They deserve it.
So given that little tidbit of opinion, my response is something you’d be able to guess:
Now I’m likely to get flak from half of this forum for what I’m about to say, but…
For fuck sakes… if anyone says “I wish I were dead”, I’ll personally come down to where you live and smack some sense into you (and I’m not the violent type but there are exceptions).
And really, considering the fact that someone’s suicide has personally affected me, I’m not at all being rash.
[paragraph intentionally removed]
Think about how incredibly selfish suicide really is – you are ONLY thinking about yourself and your problems, not about your friends, relatives and others whose lives you’d change.
Think of the impact you’d have on people around you before you go getting all depressed and “oh poor me”, etc…unless it’s just a desperate cry for attention (and you can get more positive attention in other ways).
Talk to friends, talk it out somehow. Get help. It shouldn’t come to suicide, really, suicide is the coward’s way out – when said coward can’t think of any ways to get help – believe me, there ARE ways to get help. Find them. Deal with your issues. If you have absolutely nobody to talk to, there are crisis lines and such. Talk to people there.
Think of it this way: No matter how sucky your life may or may not be, there’s always at least one person who has it worse than you. Even if you think your life sucks, at least you have a roof over your head and food on the table. A lot of us take such things for granted when there are many many people out there who struggle to make ends meet.
Don’t think I’m all meanness and evil, I’ve done a little suicide counselling before, but it’s not my favourite thing to do.
No, you likely won’t like my response but I’ve always spoken my mind and right now is no exception.
Don’t do it. We are all put on this earth for a reason (and that’s not religion, that’s just my personal belief).
