- What do you post here?
If you know me and you have a blog (non-LiveJournal-based please), let me know & I’ll add it to my blogroll.
Attribution of original content
I never post an article without citing the source (author & link to original post). I also count this as free advertising for the writer of the original work. I respect copyright.
If you’re a blog author, website developer, etc and you have a valid reason (other than “I don’t want it there”) why you feel I shouldn’t be posting or linking to anything on your site, feel free to contact me & I’ll be willing to discuss the matter. However, I should point out that it is within my rights as a blogger to post what I like when I like as long as I cite my sources.
The posting of stories, commentaries, reports, documents and links (embedded or otherwise) on this site does not in any way, shape or form, implied or otherwise, necessarily express or suggest endorsement or support of any of such posted material or parts therein.
This website’s written content is licensed under the Creative Commons License.
In plain English, this means: You agree to copy, distribute, display these writings under condition that you must give the author credit. You can’t use anything here for commercial purposes and you can’t alter/change anything.
Your privacy and mine have equal importance. In light of this fact, I will respect yours as if it were my own. I do collect certain information when you visit — your IP address, browser statistics, etc and your other contact information, as well, if you decide to contact me — but all of it, every character of text, every number, every byte of data, it all stays with me. I do not, and will not, and morally cannot, sell, lease, rent, gift, or in any way share your personal information. Period.
SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)
I reserve the right to any set any links of my choosing to “nofollow”; those links will be rendered invisible to Google and all search engine crawlers.
1. Don’t ask personal questions. If I want you to know something, I’ll tell you.
2. Ditto for asking questions that are none of your business.
3. No personal attacks and no trolling.
4. By posting on this site, you agree to:
- Respect the laws of the city and country of where this site is hosted. That would be Ottawa, Canada. I will not be held responsible for anything anyone posts that is against Canadian law. If any law is broken, I will co-operate fully with the authorities.
- Respect the terms and conditions of my host. This means no naughtiness, no denial of service attacks, be a good little user.
Users & Commenting
Registration (for commenting) is limited to people I already know. If I know you, you may ask me for an account and I’ll be happy to set you up with one.
For new users, commenting is moderated until after your first comment, then you may comment freely.
These restrictions are in place for my own piece of mind. I like to know who’s commenting on my blog.
What do you post here?
It could be anything from political news/commentary, technology news, Internet-related news, opinions on things that interest me, etc.
I don’t have an agenda but I have a point of view (depending on who you ask, that might mean the same thing): I’m federalist Canadian, left-of-centre, pro-accountability, pro-gay/queer rights (probably pro-a lot of other things).
